Capture Options

Allows you to customize how Riptastic! allocates its primary memory buffer during ripping. To get here, select Options from the Tools Menu and go to the Capture tab.

At the top is shown current values for various memory metrics on your computer. Buffer memory is allocated as a percentage of one of these metrics. You may enter the desired percentage in the Capture buffer size field, and choose from one of the following metrics:

  • Available physical memory - The amount of free physical memory, as reported by your system, at the time of ripping.

  • Total physical memory - The amount of physical RAM installed in your computer.

  • Available virtual memory - The amount of free virtual memory, as reported by your system, at the time of ripping.

  • Total virtual memory - The total amount of virtual memory, as reported by your system.

You can also set the Minimum buffer size and Maximum buffer size fields to specify the smallest and largest acceptable buffer sizes, respectively.

Refer to Capture Buffer for information about this memory buffer and how it is used. Too large or too small buffers may result in poor ripping performance.
