Ripping a CD in Riptastic! is simple. Just follow these basic steps:
  1. Using the Encoder Selector, select and configure one of the Encoders to use.

  2. Use the Path Selector to select the base path for your music files.

  3. Configure your Customizable Directory Structure using the Files Options.

  4. Insert an audio CD into your CD-ROM drive.

  5. If desired, manually download CD and track information from the Internet by using the Download Toolbar Button or Download Disc Info item from the Tools Menu, unless you have configured Riptastic! to download CD and track information automatically via the Internet Options.

  6. Begin rippping by clicking the Rip Disc Toolbar Button or selecting the Rip Disc! item from the Rip Menu.
That's all there is to it! Normally, once you have configured Riptastic! to your liking following steps 1 to 3 above, you will not have to adjust these settings every time. So you can rip CDs easily using just steps 4 to 6. If you would like to rip only certain tracks from the CD, see Rip Tracks. If you would like to rip multiple CDs, you might be interested in the Batch Ripping mode.

Should any of the tracks on the CD already exist on your hard disk, Riptastic! will show you the File Exists Dialog to confirm what you would like to do in this situation. Once ripping begins, you will be taken to the Capture Dialog.

Hint: Rip Disc is a shortcut for selecting all the audio tracks on the CD and electing to Rip Tracks.
